Musician, songwriter and music producer, Cornel Ilie is one of the most beloved Romanian artists. He is the lead singer and co-founder of one of the most popular Romanian rock bands, VUNK, former VANK. Songs like Prajitura cu jeleu, Vreau o tara ca afara, Asa, si? or Pleaca reached the pick of the Romanian charts. Alongside his career as a singer and guitar player, Cornel Ilie wrote movie soundtracks and he recently played the role of Sam in the famous musical Mamma Mia. In 2019 he wrote and released his first book, an autobiography of VUNK published by Curtea Veche Publishing – Deja-Vu. 25 years of VUNK.
